I used to swear by the original "Mouthwash" which was refreshing and effective at helping relieve dry mouth symptoms (in conjunction with the Biotene Oral Gel -- recently reformulated into a less-effective and throat-searing version -- avoid it!); however, the also-reformulated product (now re-named "Oral Rinse") just flat-out tastes HORRIBLE! If you're willing to risk trying this product, you had better buy it where you can bring back an open bottle and get your money refunded easily! And beware online ads purporting to sell a "Mouthwash" version -- the photo may be of a bottle labeled ":Mouthwash," but the reformulation occurred some time before the label was changed to "Oral Rinse" (probably because people were buying what was still purported to be the original mouthwash and then got a nasty surprise at first swig!). However, be advised that the original Mouthwash product has LONG been dicontinued, and you will surely receive the dastardly reformulation regardless of labeling -- BLECCCHH!

Contains Xylitol

By

from Maine

I use Biotene toothpaste but have tossed my mouthwash due to Xylitol in the contents. We have pets and Xylitol is toxic to pets.

Why no longer advertising as PBF?

By

from Media PA

I wish you would explain why you stopped advertising this as being helpful in preventing and removing plaque biofilm. Simply stating that it is the "same formula as PBF" seems like you are backing away from previously made claims.

I bought the "Moisturizing" rinse by mistake- yech!

By

from West Hartford, CT

I have used the "dry mouth oral rinse" for years. Recently, my store had only the "moisturizing rinse" on the shelf but the label says "original flavor". So, I thought it was the same thing but just repackaged. It's not. This stuff is terrible. It leaves a horrible aftertaste in the mouth and an unpleasant coating. I hope I can find the product I have been used to using for many years. An expensive mistake, as I am going to pour this stuff down the drain.

New Biotene is awful

By

The old Biotene mouthwash was great, but now it's nowhere to be found. Stores only have the new Biotene oral rinse. It irritates the mouth. I sure wish they hadn't changed the product!

Total Waste of Money

By

My dentist recommended that I use this product, but I am allergic to mint. I very carefully checked the ingredient list on the website and on the bottle and nowhere does it mention mint or menthol. Now I've bought it and find it is very strong mint - totally worthless to me. All they list is "flavor" . Flavor could be anything - its just mint, so for heaven's sake say mint!
I just hope it will at least clean my drains.

New improved Biotene.

Please bring back the Original Biotene. I too have Sjogrens. The Original is the only product that works and doesn't burn my mouth. Your New Improved version is horrible and leaves a nasty after taste.
